Visitor Responsibility and Good Stewardship

We respectfully ask all who use this website to please exercise good stewardship when visiting waterfalls, and behave as one would as if they were visiting another's home. Please follow Leave No Trace guidelines, and pack out everything you pack in, don't unnecessarily disrupt, alter, change, destroy or damage the environment so that all others who may come after you will be able to continue to enjoy the landscape as you have. This includes not carving your name into trees, railings, or rocks.

Private Property

The Northwest Waterfall Survey may feature information about waterfalls located partially or entirely within privately owned property. This is solely for the purpose of documenting the existence and location of these waterfalls, and to help identify which locations cannot be legally accessed. Such cases are not a legal justification for visitation of these waterfalls. The Northwest Waterfall Survey can not grant permission for visitation to waterfalls found on private property. Further, the Northwest Waterfall Survey does not condone visiting waterfalls on private property without first consulting the land owners, and asks that those seeking out waterfalls which may be found on private property be courteous and respectful of the land owner's rights by asking permission before visiting, turning away if permission is not granted, and obeying No Trespassing or Posted signs found along the perimiter or entry points to the property.

Private Landowners

If you see information on this website which does not accurately or clearly identify that a waterfall found on your property is not publicly accessible, please contact us and we will make the appropriate changes.
