Alkali Falls has lots of potential for allowing some very scenic compositions, but it also is a very two-faced location. The lofty trees surrounding the gully harboring the falls provide an almost painful amount of shade during most of the day, so lighting is difficult to deal with. The other challenge is making the falls appear more significant than they are. The lower slide sections of the falls don't generate a lot of aeration in the water, and as a result, slow exposures don't reveal much detail.
