Latourell Falls is one of the most photogenic tall and skinny waterfalls in the northwest. The obvious accents of the large patch of neon yellow lichen growing next to the falls and the fantastic columnar basalt formations behind the falls push it over the threshold of supreme photogeneity. The falls face northeast and are shaded most of the year, but the sun does strike the falls in the summer. The falls throw up a good amount of spray when the creek runs high which makes shooting from the base difficult at high water. Bring a wide angle lens to this one.
