To get clear of the spray zone and still be able to get the whole waterfall in one frame (cleanly), an ultra wide lens is absolutely necessary here. The falls face southwest and will see direct sunlight in the afternoon, but the surrounding cliffs will provide ample shade until after noon for most of the year.
