Some lucky Joe has one hell of a view off his back porch of this 125 foot waterfall wisping over a cliff toward the Kalama River. Unfortunately, since the land facing the falls is private, there are few options for viewing the falls. There is a window down the driveway of one of the residents who lives across from the falls, but the only other clear view is down river at a side angle, from which the falls are partially blocked by bordering trees. Those who have small watercraft can float down the river for much better views. Marietta Creek appears to be a seasonal stream, relying mostly on lowland rainfall for sustenance. There is some sort of penstock a few miles downstream from the falls, so it may be possible that the creek has been tapped for micro hydro purposes.
- Marietta Falls is the Official name of this waterfall.
Marietta Falls can be seen along the Kalama River Road approximately 4 miles east of Interstate 5. The Kalama River Road exit is well signed, about ½ mile north of the town of Kalama. Little room is available to park directly across the river from the falls. There is a public boat launch ¼ mile further upstream, where partial side views of the falls can be had.
