Despite what the name of another nearby waterfall (Initial Falls) along Timonium Road may construe, this is the first waterfall encountered along the route. The falls occur along a seasonal stream that sluices about 20 feet down the hillside before splashing almost directly on to the road. Chances are the stream runs dry in the late summer, but evidence of frequent rebuilds of the road at this particular location hints that this stream may become rather violent during the rare extreme storms that appear in the early winter.
- Tenas Falls is the Unofficial name of this waterfall.
This waterfall doesn't appear to have ever been named (nor should it have been), so I've called it for the Chinook Jargon word for "small" because of its stature.
Starting out in the town of Randle, follow SR 131 south and left at the junction (towards Trout Lake). Turn left onto North Fork Cispus Road # 22 after traveling for 11 1/2 miles from Randle. Follow FR 22 to the end of the pavement (6 miles) and turn right onto FR 78. The unnamed stream will be crossed for a second time at the base of the falls just over a mile from the junction.
