Wonder Falls is a 66 foot tall cascade that gushes forth from a fissure in the side of the Klickitat Canyon and veils directly into the Klickitat River. The extent of the aquafir feeding the falls is unknown, but the falls are remarkably consistent and I have to imagine are at least partially fed by snowmelt on Mount Adams. For the longest time I had assumed Wonder Falls to be on the stream flowing from nearby Wonder Spring, found about 1 1/2 miles up the Klickitat Canyon, but recent information revealed it to be at this much more accessible location.
- Wonder Falls is the Official name of this waterfall.
Wonder Falls is located in the Klickitat Canyon just east of the town of Glenwood, itself between Mount Adams and Goldendale. From Glenwood, drive east on the Glenwood Highway for 12 miles to an unsigned but really obvious logging road that takes off to the left (river side). Follow this road as it drops down to the bottom of the canyon for 6 1/3 miles, staying left at the junction after crossing the Klickitat River. The falls will be seen across the river.
