Sister stream to Bridge Creek, Whitehead Creek flows into Lookout Point Lake a few dozen yards from Bridge Creek. Naturally, since Bridge Creek harbors a large waterfall, one would be inclined to think Whitehead Creek would follow a similar trend. This is unfortunately not the case. There is a waterfall here, but it is more like a series of small cascades among really big boulders. The picture above shows the largest drop - maybe 30 feet in all - with two more smaller drops interspersed downstream, but all in all, this isn't a very noteworthy waterfall, and I'd actually be hard pressed to call it more than 30 feet tall (the drops downstream are mostly bouldery cascades, not true waterfalls). Check out Bridge Creek Falls, but don't waste too much time on this one.
- Whitehead Creek Falls is the Unofficial name of this waterfall.
Located along Highway 58 above Lookout Point Reservoir. There is a pullout where Bridge Creek crosses under Highway 58, about 5 miles west of the bridge over the Willamette River just outside of Oakridge - 1 mile west of Shady Dell Campground - or about ¾ mile east of Black Canyon Campground. Walk 200 feet west along the shoulder of Highway 58 to Whitehead Creek, and find a rough scramble path on the left side of the creek that leads upstream to the larger parts of the falls in about 150 feet.
