Careno Falls occurs along a seasonal tributary of Icicle Creek, and is visible from near the Snow Creek Trailhead when flowing. Scrambling to the base of the falls is possible but steep. Those looking for a more accessible, more revealing view of the falls can see it easily from about 1/3 of a mile up the Snow Creek Trail. The falls have a very small drainage area and dry out by July in most years. This waterfall is apparently a popular location for ice climbing.
- Careno Falls is the Adopted name of this waterfall.
I don't know the origin of the name of the waterfall, but I believe it was given by members of the ice climbing community. Further clarification would be appreciated.
Careno Falls is located next to the Snow Creek Trailhead in the Icicle Creek Valley near Leavenworth. Turn south off of Highway 2 on to Icicle Road at the west end of Leavenworth and follow the road for 4 1/4 miles to the parking lot for the Snow Creek Trail. The falls are across the road and uphill.
